how fascinating are humans. as we collectively in the same spaces, laugh, dance, talk and just be. since 2014, i have digitally captured across the globe, people in their elements and even created a human of my own. frame by frame, check out some of my favorite humans.
for a city known for backed up highways and multiple hour commutes, i am most fascinated by the freedom of the skateboard. once mastered, it is arguably the most liberating form of transportation in the city of los angeles.
there is peace in taking photos and there is peace in the subjects we capture. some of the subjects featured here, set the scene for the serenity created and allowed my camera to reflect their souls, others were just going about their paths, and i happen to cross it.
our conversations are made up of people, and framed by spaces. we journey to destinations. we arrive in places. we wander off to unknown locations. sometimes while i am alone, even in a room full of others, i myself wander off and take in the space that frames our very being.
cuba is this incredibly complex and vibrant island. as an american, cuba was hands off to so many travelers. and as much as we were kept off their island, cubans were kept on the island, experiencing their own difficulties and challenges. so as doors were opened and americans flooded the country, more colorful visuals would surface across the globe. when i went down in the winter of 2017, i wanted to capture the beauty of the country in black and white, allowing you to still witness the colorfulness that the people of cuba possess, even with the absence of color.
